About Babette

"Maison de Babette" is owned and run by French born artist and craft worker Elisabeth 'Babette' Shields who came to Australia for a two year 'working' holiday with her husband over 30 years ago .

Babette is now a proud and passionate "Franco-Melburnian" keen to promote and showcase her adopted city with its wonderful parks, markets, laneways, culture and street life to visitors from both Australia and Overseas.

By arrangement Babette is happy to take guests on excursions in and around the city either on foot or in her little Citroen 2cv, and also on longer excursions 'out of town' ie:to the wineries of the Yarra Valley, The Healesville Sanctuary etc.
